Candidates will gain an understanding of how to install Oracle software, create databases, and perform many of the more basic tasks commonly performed by DBA's, as well as others more appropriate to Developers. Our aim is neither to replace your DBA or to go in to highly technical areas of Oracle development. Instead, we aim to enable candidates to become more proficient working in an Oracle environment, and confidently handle databases in the context of development work.

• Create and run stored procedures, packages, and functions.

Discussion

• There are many other areas that could be covered in an overview of Oracle technology but it is simply not possible to cover them all. However, delegates will get a brief overview of some of the technologies that may be of use to them in the workplace such as procedural gateways to seamlessly connect different databases (eg. DB2 and Oracle) and Oracle JDeveloper. These subjects will not be covered in depth, but will allow the candidate to build on what they have learnt on this course.
